GA BotSoc 100th Anniversary Picnic and Annual Meeting
The location for the 100th Anniversary Picnic and Annual Meeting has changed due to the storm damage to Horseshoe Bend Park in Mineral bluff last weekend.
Join us this summer in the Georgia mountains for the 100th Anniversary Potluck Picnic. This 100th year anniversary of the Georgia Botanical Society Annual Meeting will be a picnic at Meeks Park in Blairsville.
The annual meeting event will consist of a business meeting including election of officers, followed by a potluck picnic with friends and family fellowship in the park.
Meeting Date: August 15, 2026
Time: 10 am – 2 pm
Meeting Place: Pavilion No. 1 – first one on the left.
Park Location: Meeks Park, Blairsville GA. Union County along Butternut Creek

Attendees: BotSoc members, family, and friends are all invited to the event, but the business meeting will be BotSoc members only.
Meeks Park is a beautiful park that runs along Butternut Creek.
Facility amenities: Electrical power, restrooms, playgrounds, trails along Butternut Creek.
What to Bring:
- Potluck dish to share

- Bug spray
- Sun screen, hat
- Bring your own chair – there are limited number of picnic tables on site and you might want to sit during the meeting or voting
- Picnic blanket for the lawn if you prefer to sit on the grass around the pavilion.
Meeks Park is a public park – you are welcome to stay as long as you want. The pavilion rental is also for the full day.
