Description:   We will explore a grassland along a pipeline right-of-way near the Chattahoochee River.

Location & Directions:   I-285 Exit 24, North on Riverside Dr NW about 2.25 mi; Left on Johnson Ferry Rd NW; 0.2 mi to Right (North) into the Johnson Ferry Parking lot at the intersection with  Columns Drive.

Meet At:   1:30pm Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area – north end of the Johnson Ferry North parking area. Park address: 301 Johnson Ferry Rd. SE. Marietta GA 30068. There is a $5 daily use fee, unless you have a Senior or Annual Pass.

Bathroom Facilities:   At the parking lot.

Walking Difficulty:   Moderate; we will hike about 1.5 mile (3 mile round trip) on a flat trail identifying grasses, wildflowers and trees along a pipeline near the Chattahoochee River.  Walking shoes/hiking boots are recommended.

Bring:   iNaturalist or the Google Lens app on your smartphone will aid with plant identifications.
