Coming out we will walk through hayfields that will lead us to a large spring surrounded by spicebush – Lindera benzoin and then around another lake. Beyond will bring us to a forested treasure of Wild Comfrey – Cynoglossum virginianum, Lanceleaf Trillium – Trillium lancifolium, Solomons Seal – Polygonatum biflorum, Golden Alexander – Zizia trifoliata, Eastern Blue Star – Amsonia tabernaemontana and special Eastern Shooting Star – Primula meadia, along the creek. Again we will be under large hardwoods and with understory Paw paws, Maples, etc. Our entire property is protected by a conservation easement granted to the Georgia Alabama Land Trust and a 18.956 acre portion of our land bordering these woods is threatened by a GA Power substation expansion.
