Note, we are doing this canoe trip on two days, please join us for either one.

Johnson Ferry to Paces Mill.
Saturday May 31, 2008  Meet at 10:00 a.m.
And again on;
Sunday June 1, 2008  Meet at 12:30 p.m.

Bring your own canoe or kayak and join a group of friends for an informal float down the Chattahoochee.  We will meet at Johnson Ferry and unload all of our equipment.  The majority of the vehicles will be taken to Paces Mill and the drivers will be shuttled back to Johnson Ferry.  This trip will take us past, what we  hope will be an active Great Blue Heron Rookery as was the case last year.  We will travel past the location of Shermanís flanking of the Confederate forces, Native American village sites, and through one of the most beautiful sections of the Chattahoochee River.  We will take rest room breaks at Powers Island and Devilís Stair Step Beach. Other stops to check out flowers, etc. are anticipated.

Please call Jerry Hightower at his home number; 770-971-8919 and let us know if you will be joining the group.
