March 22, 2008
10:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.
Join Friends of the Chattahoochee River (FCR) and Ranger Jerry Hightower for a look at early spring wildflowers along the Cabin Creek Trail and enjoy the grand view from atop Overlook Ridge above Devil’s Race Course Shoals.  We hope to see deep blue-purple Hepatica, yellow flowered Hastate Violet, toothwort, and more.  Jerry has been roaming these ridges since childhood, but don’t believe all of his tales.  All FCR members and volunteers are invited.

Meet in the Indian Trail parking area at the bulletin board.  Go south on Northside Drive and Indian Trail is the fourth street on the right.  Indian Trail goes directly into the park.
Please bring your lunch and we will picnic in the forest.  This hike is moderately strenuous.
