Upcoming Volunteer Sessions
Though many of you may be putting your gardens to sleep for the winter, here at AHC we are still working on several garden projects…especially planting! It is such an opportune time to plant – when we don’t have to worry about searing temperatures and drought. Being in the gardens at this time of the year I’m fascinated by the changes in the bird populations; they are flocking, eating different foods and their calls are changing.
Volunteer sessions in December:
All weekday sessions from 9 a.m. to noon, all weekend sessions from 9:15 a.m. until 12:15 p.m.
Tuesday, December 1 - Tullie Smith Farm
Thursday, December 10 – Quarry Garden
Saturday, December 19 – Quarry Garden & Tullie Smith
Note: We will neither meet on our regular Thursday, Nov. 26 (Thanksgiving), nor on Thursday, December 24.
If you have an interest in joining our wonderfully dedicated group of volunteers that come on a regular basis, which normally take place each month on the first Tuesday, first Thursday and the third Saturday and the fourth Thursday.
Helping in the Atlanta History Center Gardens is an excellent way to learn about horticulture, spend time in a beautiful setting, work alongside interesting people… and often be able to take plants home!
Since we plan our activities based on the number of people signed up for each session, we ask that you let us know if you will be joining us. Likewise, if you have signed up and are then unable to attend…please let us know as soon in advance as possible.
Thanks for your interest!
