Hello all!
The day has been decided for planting Smooth Coneflower (Federally Endangered), and some rare associates in Stephens County. There have been several successful reintroductions of Smooth Coneflower, and this year we are broadening our efforts and reintroducing it to more new sites within the range of the species.
We have raised close to 500 plants at the State Botanical Garden to go to 5 different sites. So, we need lots of help getting them in the ground this fall. Please consider helping. For those of you who have suffered swamping bogs, this work is a walk in the park.
When: Wednesday, November 19th. 8am-3pm Where: Toccoa, GA Bring: work gloves, lunch, water, hand trowel if possible. Who: The Georgia Plant Conservation Alliance with Botanical Guardian Volunteers.
Let me know if you can join us and if you have any questions!
